A: Absolutely! Leaf jars are the easy-care plant option that anyone can care for...even the classic "plant killer".

 

 

Q: How do I care for my Leaf Jar?

 

A: Each Leaf Jar comes with a handy care card, with easy-to-follow instructions (complete with magnet for hanging on the fridge).

 

 

Q: Will my Leaf Jar continue to grow long-term in water?

 

A: All of our Leaf Jars contain varieties that will happily grow in water long-term, although the growth rates may vary.

 

 

Q: Do I have to add liquid plant food to my Leaf Jar to keep it alive?

 

A: No. However, for your Leaf Jar to thrive, we recommend the use of a liquid plant food (provides nutrients usually found in soil).

 

 

Q: Can I overfeed my Leaf Jar with liquid plant food?

 

A: Yes! Only use the suggested amounts, to reduce the chance of damaging your Leaf Jar mini hydro plant. Your Leaf Jar will require little to no liquid plant food over Autumn & Winter. 

 

 

Q: Do you recommend a particular plant food?

 

A: We recommend Plant Runner Plant Food as it's odourless & not visible when added to the water. Simply add 1-2 drops to your Leaf Jar every 2-4 weeks over Spring & Summer. Click here to purchase.

 

 

A: How do I set up my Leaf Jar?

 

A: Each Leaf Jar comes with easy-to-follow set up instructions (on the tag). Simply, unwrap the roots, remove the jar seal, add water to cover the roots...& ENJOY! Click here to watch how to set up your new Leaf Jar.

 

 

Q: Why does the lid seal need to be removed?

 

A: The seal is there to keep the min-plant in place during transit. As the jar does not need to be airtight, removing the lid seal will aid in airflow & reduce the risk of build up under the lid.  

 

Q: Do I need to use filtered water in my Leaf Jar? 

 

A: No, most tap water will be fine. However, some tap water may contain chemicals & minerals that can be harmful to your mini-plant over time. If your mini-plant is struggling, try using filtered or bottled water. Alternatively, dechlorinate water by leaving out on the bench overnight before adding to your Leaf Jar.

 

Q: Can I add rain water to my Leaf Jar?

 

A: Absolutely, your mini-plant will love it!

 

 

Q: This is a gift, can I include a special message with my order?

 

A: Yes! Choose a gift tag & add your gift message on the shopping cart page before proceeding to checkout.

 

 

Q: This is a gift, will the receipt be included with my order?

 

A: No, all orders are shipped without invoices or packing slips. Invoices are emailed to the billing address provided at checkout.

 

Q: Can I buy the jars (without the mini-plant) & have them delivered outside of Brisbane & Ipswich?

 

A: Yes! All products on our Plant Care page are available for delivery outside of Brisbane & Ipswich, including internationally. For international delivery, please contact us for a quote. 

 

 

Q: How long will it take for my Leaf Jar to arrive?

 

A: Orders are dispatched Monday - Wednesday & will usually be delivered within 2-3 days of dispatch (dispatch/delivery times dependent on the destination) - see Delivery page for more details.

 

 

Q: Can I pick up my order?

 

A: Yes! Free pick up is available, by appointment only, from Birkdale and Hemmant. See Delivery page for more details. 

 

 

Q: How will my Leaf Jar be packaged?

 

A: We carefully pack all orders in a sturdy brown box, which instantly displays your Leaf Jar upon opening. It is both practical & beautiful, perfect for housing your carefully chosen gift.

 

 

Q: How will my Leaf Jar stay alive in transit?

 

A: All Leaf Jar mini-plants have their roots wrapped in sphagnum moss which has been soaked in water, so your Leaf Jar will arrive to your door alive & healthy. 

 

 

Q: Is my Leaf Jar safe for my pets?   

 

A: Many indoor plant varieties are not safe for pets if they are ingested. Look out for the paw print on our listings that indicates that the variety is considered "pet friendly". ***Personal research always recommended***

 

 

Q: Can I pot my Leaf Jar mini-plant in soil?

 

A: Yes. Once the roots are well established, you can transition to soil. Be sure to keep the roots moist as it is establishing and acclimatising to the soil. 

 

 

Q: Will my Leaf Jar mini-plant arrive already rooted?

 

A: Each Leaf Jar contains a mini-plant with "developing" roots. However, root growth will be variable & in some instances may be fully rooted.
